• Spinach & Quinoa Salad

I really enjoy to add some quinoa to my salads and since I have planted some spinach in my garden this year, I have decided to prepare a tasty salad with them and my dad’s hens eggs. Nothing else is better than fresh products from the garden! I am also lucky to have a big basil plant from which I took some leaves for this recipe. Ingredients for 1 salad: 60 g quinoa 1 mozzarella 6 cocktail tomatoes 1/2 shallot 1 egg a handfull of spinach 4 basil leaves 1 tablespoon seeds (flax, sunflower, marrow, sesame and chia) 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar 1/2 teaspoon Maggi liquid…

  • Summer 2021

What a complicated weather we had this Summer! Almost no heat but always cold and rainy days most of the time… It’s been really hard to keep the vegetable garden healthy and productive. We have been facing for the first time two diseases: mildew and powdery mildiou. They attacked our tomatoes, zucchinis, borage flowers, mint and sage… Hopefully, I used baking soda combined with water to face it as soon as it arrived and removed the attacked leaves. Thanks to this, only the leaves have been touched and all our fruits were healthy! But even with those deases, we had some beautiful harvests and been able to eat a lot…

  • Spring 2021

Hello everybody, I hope you are enjoying the last days of Spring before Summer! Some changes here since the blog is now on its third year, I have decided to publish 3 different articles by year for our garden: one in the end of Spring, one in the end of Summer and another one between Autumn and Winter. Why? Many reasons: for the first time, I have planted an autumn and winter garden last year so I had a lot to tell about it; then, I begun the 2021 season really early from seeds so I am lucky to have a Spring garden; finally, we have expanded our vegetable garden…

  • Autumn-Winter 2020

This year, I really wanted to try an autumn and winter garden. Since we are living in a place where winters are not really cold, I thought that it could be a good thing to get some vegetables for this season. Moreover, for the very first time, one of our banana tree got some bananas! They didn’t get big enough to be eaten but it was so cool to have them in the tree! In late September, we had our last tomatoes. After them, we decided to plant coliflowers and broccolis on this side of the garden, separated by some leeks. We also planted some spinach where we used to…

  • Summer 2020

Every year I enjoy to publish a little post about my garden in the end of summer. As you can see, this year, our banana trees are bigger than ever, it feels so good to have them here, especially in 2020 because it feels like we are on vacation even staying at home. We had enough time to improved our gardening skills by collecting our own seeds form last year’s basil flowers. We made some dry rosemary for friends and familly, then, did the same with lavender. We also extended our vegetable garden by adding more planters and creating a soil zone for planting. With those new places, we added…

  • Palem Café

Looking for a place to have lunch in La Rochelle (France)? Here is one of my favorite place: Palem Café. A cool café-restaurant just beside the Market! They are lucky to be close to the producers so they can cook very fresh and seasonal food. The place is small but cosy and well decorated with wood, straw and plants. I already felt comfortable and relaxed there, they are very nice and smiling people and it was really appreciated. The menu offers several possibilites for special diets like veggies and because everything is home-made, it is possible to remove ingredients from meals if you can’t eat them. I am allergic to…
