French Baguette

If you want some fresh baked bread but don’t have plenty of time to make it, then this recipe will be perfect for you. This is the fastest and easiest way to prepare French Baguettes without kneading and without a special pan.

Ingredients:

  • 375 g flour T55
  • 30 cl warm water
  • 5.5 g fast yeast
  • 8 g salt

Recipe:

In a mixing bowl, combine the yeast with warm water using a spatula and let rest for 2 minutes. Add the flour and combine, then the salt and combine again. Place a pan with warm water in your cold oven, place beside your mixing bowl with the dough and cover it with a towel. Close the oven and let rest for 1h30. After this time, remove the mixing bowl from the oven (let the pan with water inside) and preheat the oven at 480 °F (250°C). Place a cooking paper in your baking tray making a fold in the middle (this will be the seperation between the 2 French Baguettes. On the picture, you can see that I used a cake pan to do the separation but I realised it was not necessary). Flour your kitchen countertop and hands, remove the dough from the bowl and place it on the countertop. Flour it and cut it in two parts. Shape the first one just by stretching out the two ends and place it on the baking tray. Do the same with the other one. Score them with a knife or razor doing 3-4 parallel scores . When the oven is hot, place the baking tray inside and reduce the heat at 465°F (240°C). Cook 30 minutes. Remove from the oven after this time and place your French Baguettes on a shelf to let them cool down.
