Mushrooms Tart

I really enjoy tarts of all kind, they are really easy to prepare and can be made with a lot of products depending on your taste. I usually prepare Quiche Lorraine, a french tart made with lardons and wanted to prepare one without meat. So here is a delicious mushrooms tart that can be made in autumn.

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 1 puff pastry
  • 14 brown mushrooms
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 shallot
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 20 cl milk
  • 20 cl crème fraîche
  • 4-5 tablespoons grounded parmesan cheese
  • 1 handfull parsley
  • 10 g butter
  • balck pepper
  • salt

Recipe:

Preheat the oven at 180°C. Peel and chop the shallot and garlic clove. Wash your mushrooms and cut them in slices. Place a frying pan on the burner at medium-high temperature and pour the butter inside. Add the mushrooms and mix them with a wooden spatula. When the water comes out from the mushrooms (5 minutes), remove it from the pan and add the shallot and garlic. Cook again 5-8 minutes until they are grilled. In a mixing bowl, mix together with a whisk the eggs, milk, crème fraîche, chopped parsley (keep some for the end), some salt and black pepper. Add the mushrooms in the bowl. Roll out the puff pastry and place it in a tart pan keeping the baking paper between the pan and the puff pastry. Adjust the borders and make holes all over with a fork. Pour the mixture from the mixing bowl on the puff pastry and cover with grounded parmesan cheese. Place in the oven for 40 minutes. When it is cooked, remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before adding the remained parsley on top and serving (I like to eat it with some salad).
